EMS Week Activities
In 1974, President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our communities. Below are the activities planned by our Norton County EMS team.
Monday, May 22
A Story Walk will be set up at the EMS Station, on West Highway 36, for children of all ages to come and read all around the station. Come read “Ambulance in Action“, by Peter Bently and Martha Lightfoot. Book provided and set up by Northwest Kansas Library System. This will be available all week!
Tuesday, May 23
A Babysitting Clinic will be held at the Norton Library! If you are in 6th grade and up, you are welcome to come learn hands only CPR and basic first aid. This will be held from 1-3pm in the library’s Community Room.
Wednesday, May 24
Signs and symptoms of a Heart Attack will be presented at the Norton Senior Center at Noon. You are welcome to come and learn.
Thursday, May 25
Movie Night outside the EMS Station! Beginning at 7pm we will be showing ‘Zootopia’ by Disney. Provided by Northwest Kansas Library System. Popcorn will be provided by the Norton Theatre. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and join us for an evening of fun!
Friday, May 26
EMS will be set up at the Shopko parking lot from 11 am – 1pm to do free Blood Pressure and Blood Glucose Level testing.
